The workshop takes a close up look at the use of deficit
language in the treatment of children and youth
within the context of therapy. It
offers insights into ways that psychologists might reconsider
the
treatment and diagnosis of ADHD, the use of Ritalin,
and a call to begin listening and honouring the voice
and experience of children.
Objectives:
1) A thorough discussion of mental deficet language.
2) A discussion of the meaning, issues and mental deficit
language in therapy.
3) A discusssion and deconstruction of ADHD
Dr. Stephen Madigan has taught his unique therapeutic
